Putting people first — advocating for the rights of people with learning disabilities and autism
People First Bridgend advocates for adults with learning disabilities and autism.

Advocacy means standing up for a cause
like equal rights.

There are different types of advocacy.
This is how People First Bridgend advocates for people:
Self-advocacy: teaching people how to use their voice—helping people to help themselves.
Independent Advocacy: using an advocate to work with someone to help them understand and be listened to.
Awareness Training: teaching people who don't have disabilities what it's like to be disabled.
Easy Read: making information easier for people with learning disabilities to understand.
